Workshop 1 - Change Your Stroke Automatically - 2
In this workshop we will look at other ways of making similar but very different marks with a variety of other tools and how all this knowledge will expand your calligraphic abilities.
MATERIALS LIST FOR SATURDAY 2 MAY
The day will start with a brief discussion and some practice on the bit we didn’t do last month - using a ruling pen so if you have one of the 2 prong pens you find in old fashioned geometry sets bring it along as it has plenty of uses for today’s calligrapher.
We will then be making our own modern version in the form of a Coke Pen. For this you will need a soft drink or beer can and a piece of thin cane or a pencil.
Following this we will look at the potential of other materials which I will bring along to create your own new mark-making/writing tools. Please bring along a cutting mat, strong scissors and your own craft knife.
Bring loads of paper for experimenting on - cartridge paper, watercolour paper, brown paper, wallpaper lining paper - any paper you fancy,
It promises to be a day full of surprise snd joy, fun and laughter and mostly about learning new skills and ideas.
