GDPR

Calderdale Calligraphy Society Data Protection Policy.

The EU’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) has been in practice the UK since 25 May 2018. From that date, organisations in non-compliance will be risking heavy fines.   It will apply to every society however small, even if the society's data is held at home on a personal PC or in a filing cabinet.  Personal data means any information relating to an identifiable person who can be directly or indirectly identified in particular by reference to an identifier.  It applies to both automated personal data and to manual filing systems where personal data are accessible according to specific criteria. Examples of these would include membership details whether recorded on electronic device (PC) or card index system.

A full copy of the Societies GDPR policy is available on request and was published in the Ascender magazine Summer 2018.
